President’s Day

Another year, another hugely successful President’s Day held at Stepps Bowling Club! Stepps Bowling Club hosted their annual open day on 6 August from 12pm – 4pm for members of the community to come along and join in a game of lawn bowls, or even enjoy tea, coffee and cakes in the clubhouse and bar.

Not only did everyone have a fun-filled day, Stepps Bowling Club President’s Day managed to raise in excess of £1,400 for Help For Heroes. This is a fantastic charity that supports those with injuries and illnesses linked to their service in the British Armed Forces.

Red Deer Village Contribution

Furthermore, Red Deer Village were also extremely proud to donate a cheque in the sum of £500.00. Maria, our Assistant Office Manager, attended the event and presented the cheque to Jim Carney, the club’s president this year, as part of our contribution to the good cause. Red Deer Village’s courtesy minibus also transported our residents to the bowling club so that they could enjoy the day. Alistair, our courtesy minibus driver, takes residents for their weekly shopping. He also also takes residents on a monthly outing to a destination of their choice.

Stepps Bowling Club

Stepps Bowling Club was established in 1905, and is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from Red Deer Village. They have certified coaches available for beginners, and anyone can become a member of the club.

 

A big well-done to everyone involved, and to Help For Heroes for all that they do! And thank you to the Stepps Bowling Club for letting us sponsor their President’s Day! Everyone had a lovely time.
