Fantastic Macmillan Coffee Morning!

We raised a fantastic £652.83 for Macmillan Cancer Trust!

On Friday 29th September 2017, Red Deer Village hosted its first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning in our brand new Residents’ Hub/Sales Suite.

Two of our residents, Mary Wilson and Margaret Kearney, were in charge of the event, and a few of our residents contributed to the baking for the Coffee Morning. There were gluten-free options available as well as diabetic-friendly treats on offer.

John and Ivan Hendry, our directors, presented the ladies with a cheque for £250 for Macmillan Cancer Trust. In total, they managed to raise an amazing £652.83, a fantastic sum of money for a great cause! Well done village people!

There were a number of games held that our residents were happy to be involved in.  “How many jellybeans are in the jar?” was won by Robert Thompson, a friend of one of our residents, who estimated closest to the total of 213. “Guess the height of the tower of cakes”  was won by our Touring Park Receptionist Elizabeth Reid, who guessed closest to 93cm.

We look forward to hosting the event again in 2018, and hope to exceed the total raised this year!
