Stately – Albion Relationship

Brothers John and Ivan Hendry, who own and run Red Deer Village in Stepps, have an association with Stately – Albion going back to their very first park developments in England in the 1990’s. And, they have continued putting Stately – Albion at the very forefront of their business plans.

Stately – Albion

Stately – Albion is the UK’s oldest manufacturer of residential park homes and luxury lodges. Having started its business life in 1963, it has been used as chief supplier of park homes at Red Deer Village since the Hendrys’ first established the park thirteen years ago. Having been painstakingly built up and developed by them, it is now a 5 star, multiple rated park, proudly entering its third phase of park home development.

Red Deer Village

Home to eighty residents over fifty park homes, it has become a beautifully landscaped retirement idyll. Furthermore, a spectacular £450k Community Hub sits at its heart, used by all residents as a place to gather and socialise.

The park provides the perfect setting for the luxurious park homes. With its own team of in house gardeners, the village displays an attractive mix of manicured gardens and individually designed hard landscaping from Marshalls using tumbled walling and natural sandstone paving slabs. There are also less cultivated areas for wild flowers, butterflies and bees. Additionally, the park even has its own stunning ponds, hand purposely built by the gardeners.

The BH&HPA (the British Holiday & Home Parks Association) runs a conservation awards and support scheme for parks. Red Deer Village is the proud recipient of a Gold Award for the past two years running, in recognition of its important work in this area. It is also recognised as a Bee Friendly Park, along with special recognition for its hedgerows.

Residential Park Homes

Over 90% of the park homes offered for sale at Red Deer Village are by Stately – Albion. However, the Village can supply other manufacturers should the customer so wish. For both John and Ivan, it was an easy decision to opt for Stately – Albion as principle supplier. The sheer quality and diversity of the park homes shone through over and above other suppliers. “We have both lived and worked abroad and seen other retirement villages and standards they come up to,” John said. “So we were aiming high with Red Deer Village, wanting to create something unique in Scotland, which ticks all boxes for quality, value for money, and easy maintenance.

“We wanted to use manufacturers that we could rely on, from suppliers with excellent reputations in the industry. We needed to have park homes of different sizes and models, but all with a high specification. Stately – Albion’s portfolio is all this and more, and we have a fantastic, and very constructive, working relationship. It continues to grow stronger as we forge ahead with different phases at Red Deer Village.”

“The park still has yet more potential to fulfil as a wonderful place to live and retire,” said Ivan Hendry. “We are very much selling a lifestyle. Furthermore, many of the downsizers we sell to don’t want to compromise on specification. Therefore, many of our park homes are now complete with the very latest home entertainment technology. Including full audio systems featured throughout the properties, including USB docks, touch panel control units, and Bluetooth systems.”

Lifestyle and Details

As Ivan outlined, moving to a park home at Red Deer Village is very much a case of upscaling to a much more manageable size of property. There is also very little maintenance needed, so that residents can get on with enjoying life.

“Stately excels at offering park homes which reflect changing fashions, and their eye for design is unsurpassed. They have thought of everything, including ample storage space,” he said.

Commented John Hendry: “Stately – Albion has never let us down. And, as we enter phase three, we are once again getting great feedback from new customers and existing residents, on the choice of homes we are offering, and the general layout and look of the new phase. It’s also important that our existing residents are happy and approve of the next phase of development. We keep standards high in terms of the landscaping and ensure plenty of space between each park home.”

Each park home at Red Deer Village has an allocated parking space alongside the home. An exterior storage building complements the park home, or buyers can choose to upgrade to a garage. Steps to each property have also been individually designed using Marshalls tumbled walling and natural sandstone paving slabs.
