Elaine Smith MSP Visits Red Deer Village

On Friday 18th of March 2016 as part of Scottish Tourism Week, we had the privilege to host our local MSP and Deputy Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, Elaine Smith.

Ms Smith came to Red Deer Village primarily to have a tour of the Holiday Park site and to discuss with John & Ivan the contribution Red Deer Village Holiday Park has made to the local area. After a tour of the Holiday Park Ms Smith stated that she could see why the park had been awarded 5 star status by Visit Scotland and she commented on how clean the park was, the accessibility of the new shower facility and the refurbishment of one of the Chalets for disabled access.

Although Ms Smith’s reason for visiting the Village was to see the Holiday Park, she couldn’t resist having a walkabout on the Residential Park. During the walkabout, the MSP for Coatbridge and Chryston  commented that the quality of the properties on the park was excellent and was surprised at how spacious the homes were. Ms Smith also passed on her congratulations to the gardener for the wonderful landscaping throughout the park.  She happily posed for pictures with the staff and is pictured here with Catherine Flanagan (General Manager) and Maria Kennedy (Assistant Office Manager).

John Hendry commented that Ms Smith’s visit to the park was an opportunity to engage with the politician on local issues.  John also added that he was happy to announce that Ms Smith was so impressed with the Park she has accepted our invitation to come back for the Open Weekend on the 29th & 30th of April, Election campaigning schedule permitting.
