Maria has been promoted to Manager!

Formerly Assistant Manager at Red Deer Village in Stepps, Glasgow, Maria is now promoted to Manager!

Maria’s Achievement

Red Deer Village at Stepps, a five star retirement village for the over 50s, is congratulating its former Assistant Office Manager Maria Kennedy. She has now been newly promoted to Manager after passing her Strathclyde University SVQ in Level 9 Management.

Maria’s Background

Maria lives with her fiancé, Michael, in Cumbernauld. She has been with Red Deer Village since March 2015.

Maria’s Tasks

Maria handles administration, reception and many other tasks, whilst also coordinating the Red Deer Village in house maintenance team. Maria is based in the village’s superb state-of-the-art Community Hub, launching last year for park residents’ use. The hub contains an impressive reception area and an open plan space in which to socialise. Maria and her team also have private offices. Therefore, they are always on hand to deal with any park visitors’ or residents’ enquiries.

Maria’s Words

“I’m thrilled to have completed my course,” said Maria. “I have fitted it in whilst working here and looking after my young children, Liam and Eva. It’s been hard work, but very fulfilling and I am really proud of myself. It’s clearly taking my career at Red Deer Village to another level. I’m very happy to be promoted to Manager!”

Owner’s Words

“We knew Maria would do it!” said park owner John Hendry, who runs Red Deer Village with his brother Ivan. “Well done to her.  She has really applied herself to the Course and has grown in confidence! She is now a very well known face on the park, attending to many enquiries every day to ensure the smooth running of this park, and she’s an asset to our Hub building!”

Exceptional Service Award

Maria was presented with a BH&HPA Exceptional Service Award during the official launch of the Community Hub last year. (British Holiday & Home Park Association).

The BH&HPA is a trade body which promotes and supports the park industry across the UK. It also has a number of awards schemes covering customer service, conservation and energy efficiency issues. The Exceptional Service Awards, known as the Oscars of the park industry, were introduced so that owners could directly nominate and reward the staff they wanted to receive official industry recognition.

“Maria was a very worthy recipient of this award, and continues to delight us with her progress,” he said.
